Platform Statement

I firmly believe that TEPSA has been instrumental in elevating the level of educational leadership in Texas. I am able to serve as a better leader every day with the help of the knowledge and practical strategies that I have learned from TEPSA conferences and sessions over time. It is with great humility that I apply for the Member-At-Large position this year.

I would focus my efforts on building an awareness of the benefits of the TEPSA membership, working closely with the region presidents to build relationships, and introducing new and innovative ideas to increase our reach so that we can support more and more leaders across Texas. We must work with stakeholders and decision-makers to advocate for accessible and rigorous education for all Texas students. It will be important for TEPSA to advocate, and for the legislators to understand, how these house bills and mandates impact the classroom and I am and will be excited to be a part of this effort.

Post-COVID, leaders have continued to battle teacher shortages, increased stress levels, health challenges, technological and access to curriculum issues, social-emotional issues, and much more!! It has also changed the legal landscape that the leaders face today. TEPSA’s hashtag states that #WeleadTX and TEPSA is a pillar of strength and support as we continue to navigate these unprecedented challenges. I am honored to be a part of TEPSA and it will be my privilege to serve as an at-large member if elected.

Subbing for a grandparent.
